Who am I and what is Gestalt-therapy ?
I am a half-British, half-French Gestalt therapist, certified by the Parisian School of Gestalt. I work in Paris or online, with adults and teenagers who struggle with depression, post-partum depression, addiction to alcohol and/or other substances, relational dynamics such as dealing with coercive control and manipulation and/or lack of meaning, who seek a better understanding of themselves or who simply wish to move towards greater inner freedom and authenticity.
In Gestalt-therapy, we pay attention to what is happening—here and now—in our emotions, our thoughts, our relationships, and our bodies. Rather than trying to "fix" the past, or having to analyze or explain, we learn to feel and to bring awareness to our experiences.
How does it feel to talk about this, here and now?
Where do I feel it in my body?
What do I want to do, say, or remember?
1) Your difficulty:
You're struggling to adapt to the French system (even the French do), have ongoing anxiety, deep exhaustion, a general sense of unease, behaviors that feel out of control, difficult relationships, or a feeling of emptiness.
That suffering is not just a problem to fix — it is trying to be noticed. It speaks through your body, your emotions, and your impulses, pointing to needs that have been ignored, feelings held back, or boundaries that weren’t respected.
You might find yourself caught in a repetitive cycle: the more you try to cope, control, escape, or adjust, the tighter and heavier it feels. The more you judge yourself, the more blocked you become. You may swing between overload and numbness, agitation and stillness.
This is not a personal failure.
It is a signal — an invitation to slow down, to feel what is happening in your body and mind right now, to sense your emotions, to notice your impulses, and to become aware of what you feel.
2) What I propose :
I support you by seeing your struggle as an attempt to adapt — sometimes a costly one — to your environment and your personal history.
Together, we explore what is happening for you in the present moment. We pay attention to your bodily sensations (tension, fatigue, restlessness, tightness, emptiness, heaviness…), your emotions (sadness, anger, fear, shame, held-back joy, confusion…), your recurring thoughts and inner dialogue, and your needs that are often set aside (safety, recognition, rest, support, autonomy, meaning, connection).
In a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space, you learn to put clear and precise words on your experience.
We observe your repeating patterns — situations that keep happening, automatic reactions, impulses you hold back, and inner conflicts that move through you.
-
What happens just before the tension rises?
-
What do you feel when you withdraw or when you react strongly?
-
What are you trying to avoid, protect, or preserve?
-
What do you need in that exact moment?
-
Each session becomes a space to slow down, to feel, and to experiment in new ways. It is not about “fixing” who you are or getting rid of a part of you. It is about restoring movement where things feel stuck, rebuilding contact where it was interrupted, and regaining your ability to make choices that truly fit your needs.
3) What you can reclaim :
Through awareness comes change. What seemed overwhelming can therefore become a point of support.
Your struggles no longer have to be the enemies to fight; they can become a doorway to knowing yourself better.
You may regain:
-
the ability to feel without being overwhelmed
-
more clarity about your needs and limits
-
greater freedom in your choices
-
a more peaceful relationship with your emotions
-
a stronger and more authentic sense of vitality
You have the potential to learn how to live your life more fully — to stay connected to your body, your emotions, and your desires, and to create a daily life that feels more aligned with what truly matters to you.
