Who am I and what is Gestalt-therapy ?
I am a Half-British/French Gestalt-therapist and am certified by the Parisian School of Gestalt. I work with people who struggle with depression, addiction and/or lack of meaning, who seek a better understanding of themselves or who simply wish to move towards greater inner freedom and authenticity. In Gestalt-therapy, we pay attention to what is happening—here and now—in our emotions, our thoughts, our relationships, and our bodies. Rather than trying to "fix" the past, or having to analyze or explain, we learn to feel and to bring awareness to our experiences.
How does it feel to talk about this, here and now?
Where do I feel it in my body?
What do I want to do, say, or remember?
As a singer and fitness instructor, I find our bodily dynamics very important. Our body has a major space in the therapeutic process in the sense that we breathe and ache through it. By paying attention to what we feel, we can highlight our unexpressed needs and understand certain patterns. We then learn to care for, identify and respect our boundaries and emotions.
I also have a podcast I update regularly, Les Détours d'Olivia (in French - available on all platforms) where I discuss about addiction, depression (how to cope with alcoholism and depression), toxic relashionships and the search for meaning. My podcast will give you a sense of my style and who I am in complete transparency. Being authentic and fully natural is indeed at the very heart of my work.
